Reactive Blue 5 is a classic reactive dye based on a dichlorotriazine (DCT) reactive system and an anthraquinone chromophore. It is a “hot brand” dye that produces a bright, reddish-blue shade on cellulosic fibres. While one of the earlier reactive dyes, it remains a cost-effective and useful colourant for applications where high temperature dyeing is feasible and a specific bright blue shade is desired.
